I don't use these containers for powdered sugar, although that's what they are advertised for. I use them as travel containers of corn starch and they work great for that. The plastic covers stay in place and the shakers disperse the powder for easy use after showers.I'm sure they'd work well in the kitchen too. They are well made, easy to fill...the screen top disperses material easily and the plastic cover works well to keep powder from coming out when containers are covered.Well made and work well .

I wanted two shakers that were smaller size (approx 6oz) for spices and powders that are used in smaller quantities. These are small. They have a screw-top lid that two turns tightens the lid down. They also have a plastic cap to seal the shaker when not in use. They seem good quality, but I have only had them a few days. I don't have any trouble with the plastic cap staying on or turning the screw-top lid. The size of openings in the mesh is good for creating cocoa or cinnamon/nutmeg/sugar dusting on top of drinks like coffee, which is the primary reason for my purchase. I will post back in the future if these show signs or rust or problems after using them daily.

Nice shakers. Pretty fine screen and I like that they have plastic caps. We purchased them to see if we could use them with dry powered dyes when ice dyeing. Haven't gotten to that yet but they work great in applying extra soda ash on top of the ice. Nicely made, good quality.

They are smaller than I thought they would be. The lids aren't very tight and come off easily, which is not good.

Worked great on cereal and toast. Solid lid top was way too loose and would fall off easily. Should have had a screw on lid.

I bought these to hold flour. They work very well and I haven't noticed any rusting or blemishes yet.
