- Model Name: CC650;
- AC/DC Current Clamp, 400Hz Bandwidth, 1mV/10mA, 650A;
- It is a transducer which allows your multimeter to measure current data and enable your oscilloscope to measure the current waveforms;
- Its current transducer is composed by permalloy and hall element, which linearly transform the AC or DC current to AC or DC current voltage;
- with its BNC connected to oscilloscope, it will help to observe the current waveforms; If connected to a multimeter by banana type connector, it will help to obtain the current data.
Application
- Power circuit measurement and malfunction analysis;
- Motor drive of frequency converter (or other electronics) measurement;
- Power electronics equipments measurement.
Application Notes
- In the case of DC current, the output is positive when the current flows from the upside to the underside of the clamp. The red banana plug is positive.
- In the case of DC current measurement, the current clamp can not possibly zero properly, due to the hysteresis effect. To eliminate this, open and close the jaws several times and then zero again.
- When the current clamp range is set to 1mV/100mA, the actual current value is one hundred times of the measured data whose unit is mA.
- AC/DC frequency range: Up to 400Hz
- Effective Measurement Range: 20mA to 650A DC;

The devise works well on complaint is the zero function the button sticks or sometimes does not work. I would recommend a dial zero function would be better. But I would recommend this product for the price.

I had to purchase a 1ft bnc jumper cable to use this product because the bnc end they used was fatter than a standard Bnc female and wouldn't fit in the recessed BNC port on my scope. Only taking off one star because it otherwise works great and most scopes I know don't have recessed ports.

Bought this mostly for current draw testing of starter motor, and relative compression testing.However, when doing a parasitic draw test using my multimeter, I came up with 35 mA draw (which is within range for this particular vehicle) just for fun I hooked up this amp clamp and it also read 35 mA, which is amazingly accurate on a low amperage draw like this using a high amperage meter.Very pleasantly surprised and satisfied with my purchase.

It's max range is 650 amps. So be prepared to make a times 10 adapter

Used the probe to view engine starter current. Meets expectations at a reasonable cost. The frequency responce was adequate to clearly capture solenoid engagement current, starter inrush current, engine cranking current and cranking termination.

Excellent product smaller model also, only one thing, the switch is cheap, people with experience can replace it with a better switch. The probe respond in high frequencies also, so good to mesure fast amperage.

Bought this to go with my Hantek 1008C. Works good and allows to check ignition secondary on older vehicles (not coil-on-plug) and current draw while cranking!
