Auto ignition probe
Auto ignition probe is a kind of inductive capacitance sensor, it must match with an oscilloscope. Close to use, can be used to test a spark ignition secondary overlapping wave, overlapping wave parameters, thus achieved the detection, the diagnosis engine ignition position, make each cylinder ignition voltage changing with time directly from the oscilloscope display. The loot line has three ends, a joint meet oscilloscope for BNC use, a clip for use, a clip grounding to pick high-voltage gleaned clip with. Loot clincher over is a attenuator, used for loot high-pressure attenuation for low pressure, thus protecting oscilloscope not electrify impact. When used please note: (1) Test clips shall not directly clip in spark plug, should be caught in the connection of the spark plugs of insulation wire, in order to prevent the breakdown and causing a shock.
(2) To distance other high-voltage at least 2 inches apart, lest produce interference.
(3) HT25 leading line length 2.5 meters, the decay of up to 10,000:1.

Helped me figure out what was going on with customer's motorcycle ignitions systems. Takes the guesswork out and it helps tremendously when you can see the details of an ignition event. A great and affordable piece of HT interface for your oscilloscope.Edited to add: Finding even more uses for this device. Checked the waveforms of my pickup truck's HV wires and saw some strange things, so I pulled the plugs out and they were badly worn out. The waveform is inverted from what you normally see in pictures on the internet, so once you realize that, no problem. I use this item with a little pocket scope and that makes it amazingly portable and easy to use.

This is a nice and simple way to test secondary ignition performance. Depending what scope I use with this, I will attach a simple BNC to banana converter to help out. The BNC plug has very nice strain relief that will help the end last a long time. The cable is nice and long so you can get your expensive scope equipment away from the engine bay. This probe I got has 1,000:1 attenuation. So that means 1V displayed on the scope represents the secondary 1kV.So far so good.

Absolutely amazed at how good the fit and finish were on something like this that only cost $13. It worked perfectly with my JYETech pocket oscilloscope to help diagnose misfires on a couple vehicles. I was very pleasantly surprised at how easily it would grab a good signal without fussing with the setup. Still can't believe it's only $13. The 8-foot length was nice as well; easy to lay it wherever you need it to go. Would not hesitate to recommend this to anyone, professional or hobbyist. For the price you could get 4 to use on multiple input scopes and ready 4 cylinders at once and it won't break the bank.

Used this on a 2005 GMC 6.0L gas engine. Worked great. I was able to compare the ignition pulse of all the spark plugs and quickly determine that I had an ignition problem, not a fuel injection problem. Some of the pulses looked different from the others and those were the cylinders with bad spark plug wires. Paid for itself in only one use!
