Your cart is empty. The Tripod Mount Ring from Haoge is specifically designed for Nikon NIKKOR AF 80-400mm f/4.5-5.6D ED VR and AF-S 300mm F/4D IF-ED Lens. It features Arca-compatible dovetail which allow you attach your lens to Ball Head, Clamp or Panorama Head of Arca-Swiss standard. Reserved 1/4" and 3/8" screw holes at the bottom for attach lens to tripod directly.

The ring adds stability to your camera and lens. Due to its weight, when the lens is mounted with a camera on a tripod, the center of gravity is shifted to the lens. The ring attaches to the tripod and can be shifted to adjust the balance.
Rotation
Having the camera secured with a ring around the lens makes it possible to rotate the lens between landscape and portrait modes without removing the camera from the tripod. The friction thumbscrews can then be tightened to secure the camera in the desired position.

This replacement collar works fine if you only use it on a tripod. However, if you also want to use the camera with a 80-400 mm lens handheld, then the grip on the collar gets very uncomfortable. So I have to start looking for replacement for this replacement. Do your homework.

This collar replacement foot tripod mount ring fix my nikon 300mm F4 AF-S pretty well. The only potential issue is unlike Nikon original collar, there is no protection between the collar and the lens, so if there is dust or small particles then you might get your lens barrel scratched.
