I'm a 5'3" woman 125lbs and the L fits me fine. I regularly wear size 2-4 pants. I could maybe have gone down to a Medium and still been fine. Haven't tumbled yet but they feel sturdy, maybe I'll update after I inevitably fall.

Sometimes knee and elbow pads have such a robust formed plastic design that it isn't very comfortable for little ones to wear them. This one is a great design... I was happy the plastic protector but not too big or bulky fitting. The hand (palm) protector pad is my granddaughters favorite! I was glad this was in the set.One thing that would improve this product would be longer straps for the knee pads. My granddaughter is only 5 and not large - but they seem a bit tight, especially when she bends her legs.

Even though I'm an adult I'm a beginner skater. I saw a video where they said that you learn faster when your protected. This is true. I see myself getting better and don't care about all the padding.

The sizing was really strange. The 2 wrists pads we received were medium sized, then we received 1 small elbow pad, and 3 knee pads - 2 small and 1 medium. Seriously? Absolutely ridiculous. Our 10 year old is making due with what she has because she really wanted to ride her new skateboard, but we are frustrated by the lack of quality control with the packaging. The products themselves feel durable and are comfortable at least.
