This is actually a really great boys do it yourself kit. Its pretty hardy and durable for little hands. Its not to girly but in terms of looks its very boyish but a girl could enjoy it too

My 5-year-old and I had a blast putting this together. He loves it! Unfortunately, though, it’s only been a week of use and the button no longer works to turn the light off. I have to unscrew the top and pop out a battery every time. Very disappointing and annoying. As much as I would like to because it’s cute and fun to assemble, based on our experience I can’t recommend it.
