It is exactly as they present it! Works really well for all his hats and very glad I chose this one to give him for Valentines Day. I love the option for attaching to the wall too. We chose the door route. It is a door that stays open all the time, and the suction cups for bottom didn't work with the accents on the door which wasn't a big deal for us.

I had to make a few adjustments. I had actually read another review that mentioned they had to drill out the holes a little bit. I also had to do this as well. The holes where the pieces needed to be inserted/attached would not fit because the holes weren’t wide enough and/or the coating on the pieces made them too thick to fit. I also didn’t receive enough small screws for the attachments and some of the small screws were too small to fit tightly/snug. I am somewhat handy so I was able to make adjustments and I have extra screws in my tool kit that I got to fit on the attachments better. But this is the style of hat organizer I wanted and needed for the space in my closet. There weren’t really many other options in this specific style for an over the door hanging hat holder. So that’s why I say if you are willing to make a couple of adjustments it could be worth it!

Works well enough, could have significantly less construction to get it set up. Not all hats will actually fit on it, but the alligator clips are nice to have. It also swings on the door.
