Used for a Jeep Wrangler hard top hoist. This was way overrated for the job, does great. Very heavy duty, good bearing motion.

We used two of these blocks - one at each end - to get good mechanical advantage lifting a 150 lb. load from horizontal to vertical.Worked great - would recommend.

This is a descent quality double sheave pulley, with the SWL (Safe Working Load) stamped on the side plate (420 lbs.). The item is made in Taiwan. The shaft is removable for inspection and lubrication. Each sheave will accommodate rope up to 3/8" (8mm) diameter. The side plates are 3/32" thick chromed steel. The 1-1/2" diameter sheaves are made of cast zinc with steel bushings pressed into them, so I highly recommend lubing the shaft with a good quality grease such as Bel-Ray Waterproof Grease. All in all, this pulley is a good value for the price.

My title says it all. These pulleys do work adequately in basic applications, and the two sides operate independently, but this isn't a premium product. There are no ball bearings or even a slip bearing, so as thee metal pulleys turn, there's a lot of scraping against the frame and a lot of noise that results. The fact that there's a lot of play between the pulley and the axel doesn't help with this, either. The mounting flange is a bit of a curiosity, as it's a smooth hole of about 5/8" in diameter. That may be fine if you want the pulley to swing freely, but there are models designed specifically for that. With such a large mounting hole, it's difficult to mount the pulley to anything, and virtually impossible to keep it stationary, as was essential for my application. The only way to stabilize the pulley is to mount it firmly in some sort of clamp, which kind of defeats the purpose of using a $10 pulley in place of a better, $20 one.

It's tough to find a double pulley at the local hardware store, and these arrived quickly, with a very competitive price compared to similar hardware. Sometimes a double pulley is a bit of a luxury to make lifting easier, and the availability of these makes having a double pulley easier....

I'm getting too old to be jacking a 14 foot fishing boat on and off the bed of the pick up truck by myself. I used this to set up a rope and pulley rig that lifts the boat out of the bed of the truck and stores it on end against a big white pine. It's remarkable how easy it is now to lift the stern all the way up and into the truck bed, or up and out, as needed.

They work well. Just wish they had more options. I need a 4 pulley setup. Two doesn't quite handle the weight.

I have a 25 pound bike that I hoist into the rafters when not in use. The 3/8" rope was hot running through the pulleys easily. This new one was so good the weight of the unattended rope pulled itself through during set-up. Want something better than the standard hardware pulley? This is the best bet.
