put on a big 110v 90 degree 1/2 HP drill that plumbers use. Pulls my arse up to the top of the mast in 30 seconds using one of the winches.

I have a 39 ft Morgan sailboat with 4 manual winches in the cockpit for all my sail lines leading aft. I got this winch drill bit to put on a Milwaukee Super Hawg right angle drill for automatic winching and it works like a charm!I wanted automatic winches, but are extremely expensive. And cordless winch handles are also just as expensive. Then I discovered the Milwaukee 2807, which is still pricey but way cheaper than name brand electric winch handles. But this drill has enough torque and power to hoist up my main sail!Plus you can use the drill for other drilling needs. But this winch drill bit makes this Super Hawg a sailing game changer! So happy they make this drill bit!! Highly recommend!

This, obviously, is a very simple device. But it does what it is designed to do. My only caution, and this is not a failing of the product, is that a light duty battery operated drill will not have the power to hoist a person with the winches on most sailboats. You either need a high power drill with a low gear, or some people power helpers. Or you can get two and use two drills I suppose, I didn't try that, but it would probably work.

Best investment to take in or out up sails with minimal effort. 100% worth it!!

This works, but it's made of relatively soft metal and is also just slightly loose in the winch, so every time there's high torque, it deforms a little bit. Maybe it'll last a year or two, but eventually the "gear" ridges will round out and it'll be garbage.

We use this with a writing look up drill to raise our sales. Works amazing and keeps us from getting exhausted.

Will work great but only drills over 1000 in.lbs have any chance of raising a main.
