This egg candler lights the eggs well for checking them. The contents of the package didn't have the rubber tips in it.

The first few weeks I had this, I had assumed that it didn't work because I couldn't get it to turn on. Then I see my 4 year old playing with it and the light was on, so I asked her how she did it. Seems like it was just coincidence as it happened to work then. When I switched it off, then back on, I got light for a few seconds then it shut off without touching the switch. Not very reliable.

This candler is larger but lighter than the one I hoped to replace it with, and the light isn't nearly as bright. I gave it a second chance by charging it again overnight and using it in the dark, but it still wasn't bright enough to see the contents of any except the eggs with the lightest color eggs. I do not recommend this candler.

This does the job. It's easy to charge and candles all different sizes of eggs. It is easy to tell whether an egg is going to hatch or not. Much nicer than the make shift flashlights I've been using.
