This stake doesn’t require undoing wiring. There’s a small slot in which to insert the underground low voltage wire permitting one to screw the landscape light pole without having to rewire. I was able to remove the old stake by breaking it carefully with a hammer (after trying to cut it off carefully with a hacksaw). This stake is worth the extra few dollars because it’s sturdier than the original stake and fits just as well.

This is the base for my landscape lights. I've had them for about 20 years. One of my bases got broken and would no longer keep my path lighting upright. Ordered a replacement and put it in the ground as soon as it got here. Screwed my light into it and everything worked as designed.
