Great solution in theory, but, unfortunately, no matter what I tried, this item failed to bridge my Samsung TV's audio HDMI and the optical input of my Bose soundbar and have had to retreat to the annoyance and lower quality of Bluetooth. It is gathering dust behind my TV cabinet.

A few days ago, I used it with a projector at home to enjoy the sound effect better. The connection is very stable, there is no delay in audio output, and the effect is exactly what I expected. [UPDATE]Amazon sent me a replacement of this item. Upon testing the replacement, it works as expected. What was wrong with the first one? Who knows. Updated to 4 stars from 1 star due to the first one not working and having to wait for a replacement.[ORIGINAL REVIEW]I ordered this to fix the audio delay in OBS from my Elgato HD60 X.There is a known bug in OBS that causes an audio delay when inputting both audio and video from a capture device. I ordered this item to separate the audio stream from the HDMI to input it separately into the PC.This item simply does not work. I gave it power, and an HDMI signal and it does not output any audio through the optical port. Not only that, but it does not even output any light out of that port. Even with no audio signal, it should still output light. It's functionally a dead output.I have requested a replacement hoping that I just got a defective device. I'll update if the replacement acts any different.
