Great shears, perfect for maintaining shrubs and bushes. Even though I'm using these mostly for shaping the bushes at the front of my house, I recently used these to "clean up" dead branches on my oleanders. Extending the shears' arms is a great feature too that makes the work easier. Good product.

My old garden shears were made somewhere around Pearl Harbor Day so I needed something that wasn't old and worn out. When I discovered these Heavy Duty Shears I ordered them immediately. Unlike some other shears that I have seen these shears are made of a high quality steel and are sharp and even maintain the sharpness after some serious use.The handles are angled properly for a comfortable fit and slightly padded. One great feature is the ability to adjust the length of the handle so when you are working on lighter shrubs you can shorten them but when you are working on shrubs that are substantially thick and you need a bit more "umph" simply extend them out to give you much more of a grip.Again, I'm impressed with the blades as they fit snuggly together giving you a clean cut on everything that you apply them to. This is a great tool to add to your garden tool supply as you cannot go wrong with the quality of this tool.

These garden shears are premium quality. The handles are comfortable to hold and have non-slip grips. The handles extend and retract smoothly, easily (a simple button-push and handle pull/push), and independently of one another, so you can reach into tight, awkward spaces. They 'lock' into place at each extension setting, so they won't inadvertently retract (or continue extending) while you're using them. The blades are very strong and sharp and they scissor open and closed smoothly. There is a dial to change the blade tension; it's a bit tough to rotate, but does the job. These do have a bit of weight to them, consistent with the heavy-duty quality. The product warnings and maintenance instructions on the tag are so full of spelling and grammar errors that they are impossible to understand, unless you already have a good idea of what they are trying to say.

First of all these garden shears are very sharp. There’s a good reason they come with a protective covering. The blades are at a slight angle instead of being straight in alignment with the handles. This makes it easier to clip items on the ground or close to the ground. I really like the extendable handles with three settings. This helps me reach higher items without needing a ladder. The shears are lightweight enough that it’s not difficult to handle them with the extended handles. The padded grips are very nice. I sure this will cut down on the number of blisters I’ll get when I’m spending several hours trimming bushes. Another feature I hadn’t considered before is being able to adjust the tension in the shears. There’s a button where the blades meet that can be turned to make the tension tighter or looser. The tighter tension makes it easier to trim small stemmed plants or grass. All these added features make these shears a big step above other regular garden shears I own. The first time I used these they immediately became my favorite pair of shears.

These hedge trimmers are a lot more sturdy than I was expecting! These can easily do bigger jobs than I originally thought. I ordered these thinking they were smaller clippers, but these can be used on much larger plants/shrubs, or even small tree branches. I'm very pleased with the quality and have already used to them to trim some bushes and plants around our yard. Even though they they are bigger than I expected, they're easy to use and do not seem overly heavy. We will be getting a lot of use out of these!

This is a very nice pair of hedge shears. The blades are sharp, and there are no gaps between blades so they get a tight clean cut, instead of ragged like what happens with gaps between blades. A cleaner cut makes for healthier plants. The extendable handles are a nice feature, which helps prune in hard to reach areas. The lightly padded hand grips make these shears comfortable to use. I just pruned 3 azalea bushes and forgot to wear gloves. Not a problem with these grips. That will especially be a bonus in hot weather to keep the grips from slipping.Overall, this is a very nice pair of hedge pruning shears, and I believe they will give me many years of quality service. No hesitation at all in giving 5 stars.

These are a bad set of shears but not the best made. Mostly they are very heavy and the metal material seems really good. They are also nice and sharp. My problem is with the mechanism to extend the handles. It's like they were going great up to that point. The plastic parts are just not as good of a quality as the metal. I can understand the parts being somewhat stiff being new.....but these buttons are really hard for me to push and my mother can't push them at all to extend. They seem a cheap plastic that will break sooner then later. Overall as a shear they aren't bad at all...but I don't see using the longer handles just to keep the tool from being broken and useless.....

These are the sharpest garden shears I have ever had. They are super sharp. The handles extend out and snap into place. I previously had a pair that extended and then you twisted the handle to make it stay extended, which of course, it didn't. These extend and snap into place so your not struggling to keep the handle extended. There are several options for lengths to extend.
