Premier Stainless heavy duty thimbles are manufactured with highest quality in mind, which is achieved in both their appearance and functional capabilities. Like most Premier Stainless products, these wire rope thimbles have a high polish finish, which makes them favorites for use in decorative and architectural applications. They are also extremely functional, offering great strength for their respective sizes as well as corrosion prevention.
Cable and wire rope thimbles are primarily used for making protected eyes in cables by wrapping the cable back on itself and affixing with wire rope clips or crimp sleeves (each sold separately in the Premier Stainless storefront). The main advantage of using thimbles is because they form a more secure, protected eye, preventing the cable from wearing and fraying.

Edges are smooth enough for wire cable, I sanded a few spots to use them with synthetic rope, but I didn't really need to. All the eyes are nice and round without kinked or crumpled spots. The channel for the rope is not quite as consistently round. The rope channel is also much larger than it needs to be for the stated size, but I'm not complaining. The 1/8" thimbles could fit 1/4" cable. I used the 1/8" thimbles with 1/8" AmSteel and you can see how much extra room there is. The finish is the best part, very shiny and smooth. The stainless steel is slightly ferromagnetic, strong & springy, and difficult to sand. Overall they seem great for the price. The metal quality and high quality finish are the standout attributes.

Previously ordered and returned were the AConnet Wire Rope Cable Thimbles - totally wrong dimensions, bad machining and a little on the ugly side - skip those. The T316 Marine Grade is winner winner!
