Lapis lazuli

This stone was present in the inlay of the death mask of King Tutankhamen. The famous artist Michelangelo got blue paint by grounding up lapis lazuli. Used as a remedy and protection amulet in ancient times, lapis lazuli draws attention to its deep-blue color with traces of gold. It’s the stone of truth and friendship, so it works well as a gift for your best friends, with whom you are thick as thieves. It’s also believed to be the wisdom stone, able to bring peace and harmony to his owner.

These were put on a Bach 72* L-bore from 1972. The pictures don't do them justice. They look great and seem to be excellent quality. I haven't noticed a change in the sound of the horn from just the caps alone, but they feel better under my fingers than the standard caps, which is enough for me. I need to get the complete set. The bottom caps in particular are likely to add some overtones and maybe tighten the slotting. I have generic bottom caps on there, but judging by the quality and look of these, I need to get KGU ones. One thing to note: The threads on these were taller (slightly larger major diameter) than the original caps. This meant that they didn't screw on easily the first time. I was very careful to make sure the thread pitch was the same and that they weren't damaging the valve stems, but it took some extra force to get them fully seated. I would not normally recommend doing what I did, but I have a decent amount of experience with this, and I knew what not to do. After getting them on the first time, they were perfect, and the old caps still screw on and off fine. If yours don't want to screw on easily, check the thread pitch to make sure it's exactly the same as the normal valve caps. Also make sure you're not cross threading them. Go very slowly and apply the least amount of force you can. If in doubt, contact KGU for replacements. You don't want to damage your valve stems.

Received my Heavy Brass Buttons in Turquoise and they really pop on my Bach 43G horn with gold accents. Great feel with the weight and of course the Turquoise makes it sound much better! These, or any color would be a smart addition to your horn.

I purchased these directly from KGU Music before I realized they sold on Amazon, but have been so impressed. Install was easy and they are such a great addition for both looks and performance on my trumpet. I have been so pleased with all the products I have purchased from KGU Music!

I added these heavy trumpet buttons to one of my early 1960s Bach trumpets and really liked how they looked and the added 'core" to my trumpet's overtones. Would recommend this product.

This product is beautiful with the turquoise inlays. The buttons are heavy and designed well. The extra weight definitely helps with the vibration in the valve stem and it helps the sound resonate better throughout them. I highly reccomend this product if you want to make your trumpet more custom to you and your style.
