Purchased this heated waste water hose during a cold snap where my previous hose actually shattered. Temperatures were as low as 4F with 11mph steady North winds. Replaced that hose with this and it has worked fine with temperatures in the teens and steady 15mph + winds. My valves leak on the RV so it has been impossible to keep water out of the waste water hose and the previous hose plugged up with ice and then froze completely. So far I have seen now ice blockage in this hose.

I was living in my trailer close to work in a remote location when the winter storm stroke. Being a newly rv owner didn’t know much about insulating pipes but I did the best I could with my water inlet, but i thought that the sewer hose was going to be ok. It didn’t, got bursted. To prepare better for the next storm I came across this product, I thought it would keep my sewer pipes running regardless the weather.I was hoping too much.I had to wait till my pipes thaw out to install the new one, then my problems started. To begin the pipe by been smaller in diameter than the regular sewer hose of the camper meant it get clogged easily; in addition, the joint to the sewer outlet does not provide grip causing leaks, mainly because the adapter won’t adjust properly and if to much pressure is applied to this piece it will brake, the color the manufacturer used on this product resembles a reputable brand of rv supplies which mislead the costumer to believe that similar quality on this product is guaranteed. The sleeve covering the pipe does not provide any insulation, to keep everything warm I had to add an extra layer of insulation noodles and duck tape.At the end of the day, a job that I thought was going to be easy turned to be a nightmare, a waste of money, waste of time figuring out how to make it work. After a whole day struggling with the product, I just decided that I’ll be better off by getting my Rv supplies from that same reputable brand they tried mimicking to ensure my pipe won’t freeze again.

We bought this heated drain hose, and absolutely love it! The quality of it is excellent! It does a great job keeping the drain hose on our camper from freezing in the winter. The hose came in a really nice bag to store it in. The only thing I wasn’t extremely impressed with was the plastic locking mechanism that you twist on to the camper. The plastic itself wasn’t the best quality and when we initially hooked it up we had a leak. My boyfriend had to get a rubber ring out of another one of our hoses to put inside of the heated hose. Other than that it’s the perfect length and it does exactly what it’s supposed to do. I wish I would of invested in this initially instead of the rhino hoses.

I was really prepared to like this system but the gasket does not seal correctly and it leaks. H&G, do you have replacement gaskets so we can fix that seal? Thank you.

No frozen poop-cicles for me! We live in our RV full time and this kept our drains working down to -5 (I think they advertise -10) but it only dipped that low periodically over where we're parked at in Missouri. I recommend you add some kind of a heater blanket to your shut off valve itself if you keep it closed, but we left ours open and had zero issues. Seems to be on all the time, don't think it has a thermostat on it. Only reason it's 4 stars is it doesn't come with a threaded connector for the sewer dump adapter, but I had one already and used it.

This RV Sewer Hose is exactly what an RV'er needs for the Winter. Living in an area where subzero temperatures are norm during Winter months makes this not only a desirable product, but a MUST product!!!! Having to deal with a frozen RV seer hose is absolutely no fun! I am definitely going into this Winter more prepared and ready for nights when subzero temperatures return. Using little more energy as an heat tape, Winter energy bills will be minor. Well made and ready for the elements. Can not tell how happy I was to find this product.
