I use this to hold my indicator in my drilling and tapping collects to line up my jaws. Works as it should!

I needed this multi purpose dial indicator swivel for one of many dial indicator set ups, mainly use on my mill. The stud/tightening portion is off a bit on the geomotry, making it very difficult to use on US measure shaft diameters-.250"/.375". If the shaft is placed seperatly into the clamp it will tighten very well, yet things get real touchy if both shaft diameters are installed and tightnened. I got by initially by simply placing a flat washer between the knurled nut and clamp body to increase the torque on the factory .250"shaft. Finally I turned a shaft to .245/.246" inable to allow both the indicator (.375") and shaft to tighten equally with the knurled knob and no flat wahser added. The clamp inner holes need to be deburred from sharp edges that contact shaft before allowng complete circle to clamp. So-you can add a flat washer that may impead space and movvement in certain needs, or buy another brand? Alot of work for something so simple. Not scienced out.

This is basically useless. The dimensions on the holes are off, It won't clamp properly to a 1/4" shaft. Returned.
