I used to be a painter and did a fair amount of drywall work during that time, and I like this sanding head. It is made from a nice lightweight alloy. The components are sturdy, and it screws down to clamp the sandpaper nicely. (I've recently been using a plastic one which always feels like the screws are about to pull out.) The backing for the sandpaper is firm but with a little bit of give, just like you want it. The handle attachment is attached with joints that seems like they will hold up well, but they also allow the sanding head to move freely. Got this just in time for some ceiling I had to patch after adding an outlet. I'm honestly not sure what they mean by "no flip." This head seems to flip pretty freely, and I'm sure would flip if you are not doing it right or if there is a spot that catches it. Once you get the hang of using one of these, it's not much of an issue usually. I predict that I will probably have this the rest of my life.

Holds onto sandpaper well enough, fits broom stick, does all that. The critique I have for it in my use is that the articulating joint of it is floppy. There is no real way of keeping it positioned until it is in contact with the ceiling. Once it is in contact with the ceiling, it works great and the articulation allows it to evenly distribute the pressure. Im not a professional drywaller so I cant say what is the preferred feature but I was getting a little annoyed as soon as I stopped sanding and tested my arms that it would just flop over and coat me in more dust.

I don’t know why this is advertised as a no flip sander, it definitely flips very easily, which gouges the nice fresh drywall mud.
