Well made and looks great. Works as intended but the checks are a little tricky to put in. Mainly because of the flimsy nature of the paper vs the friction of the leather. But no regrets.

This fit my checkbook perfect. It was a little bit of a tight squeeze for my checkbook & my registry, but it fits just like a glove. It’s so shiny. I love it immensely. There’s only one qualm I had about it as when you touch it you do not want to touch it with anything after touching something with grease I just use plain soap and water, on a rag & then rinse it and it & wiped it clean, but I did not immerse it into the water. Please do not do that. It could stretch the leather out of shape. After wiping it down well, and washing my hands, It did become just as pretty as the day I got it. I put it in my new Michael Kors purse. It looks amazing. I get compliments on it all the time. I actually don’t use a lot of checks anymore, but I do carry them for emergency purposes, My granddaughters went crazy over it & so did my mom. I had to buy another one. Her checkbook was so large she couldn’t fit it into the new purse I bought her. This fits perfectly with plenty of room left for other things. She wanted the brown leather one. But the same size as mine. It won’t be here till Thursday or so. She is so excited I think you’ll love it if you’re a black patent lover yourself, like me. When I was a little girl & my tap shoes got a little snug, my mom would buy me a new pair, and I would wear the others out on the sidewalk in front of the house dancing. I also took ballet, and had a bag that was round with a handle at the top, Mine were shiny black patent. My ballet shoes fit on one side and my tap shoes on the other. I wanted to wear them to church, the store, & everywhere I went. I guess I’m just that kind of girly girl that loves anything shiny and sparkly. The thing my mom liked about my checkbook cover was some checkbook covers don’t have a large enough space between the ledger, and your checkbook, so that when you bend & close it in the middle the checkbook gets all crinkled inside, and will not shut correctly. This one does. Take my word for it girls, you’ll love it. The only thing about it is it has not marked or have any scratches on it but if you set it next to your sunglasses in your side pocket of your purse,, it may make some indentations that you cannot take out . Otherwise, I’m in love 😍 with it and It’s totally worth it. I haven’t had a new checkbook cover in 25 years. I’m so happy! Thank you Amazon & to the seller for another amazing product!!🖤🖤😊

Product is made of what appears to be a good piece of leather, with a nice thickness and heft. Stitching looks to be solid. It should last for ages. Two things about it though:As others have mentioned, the slot to insert the back of the checkbooks is too narrow. Not by much, but it is too narrow. That is a definite failure in the design as those things are pretty standard. Trimming about 1/8 inch off of both ends of the checkbook makes it fit fine, but you shouldn't have to modify something standard like that. Also the leather felt just a little 'dry' to me. Not in a worn out way, but it just wasn't supple. A little leather conditioner (I like Leather Honey) fixes that up. A first application already has it feeling much better. The leather was dry because it just sucked the conditioner right in and the surface was quickly dry again. I have a second coat on it now and will probably do one more. By that point the leather will be very soft and supple. Again, shouldn't have to do this for a brand new item, but it isn't the first thing I've had to do this for. One note, the conditioner will darken the leather some. Be prepared for that, or don't do it if you really want it the shade it comes.

I really like this thing. Feels very high quality and looks great. Holds my checks well. Only thing like others have said is that the checks are very snug in the pocket but that's probably a good thing so they don't fall out - I imagine it can loosen up over time to help with that. Overall I am a big fan and this was worth the cost

Good quality, but it should be a little big, checkbook barely fits.

Nice. The more the world goes plastic and synthetic, the more I fall in love with old school materials, like stone, tin, and glass, and especially natural materials, particularly those with grain, like wood and leather. I'm slowly switching as many things as possible to those made of or with natural and/or old school materials. I've replaced all my cheap plastic and ugly wire closet hangers with cedar. I'm doing away with plastic and synthetic gun cases in favor of leather cases. Instead of a modern synthetic gym bag, I bought a nice full grain leather gym bag. Etc. And now I've got a beautiful, rustic leather checkbook cover that will last me, at 55, the rest of my life in place of those cheap plastic checkbook covers that hardly last a year without looking like crap or ripping. Little by little, less plastic and more natural, less modern and more old school. Purchased it for $25 along with the Hide & Drink leather clutch bag for $35. I'm pleased with my purchased. $60 well spent.Review of rustic, bourbon-brown leather checkbook cover by Hide & Drink.
