I bought this for making a homemade sitar. The wire is pretty good for this, it is sometimes billed as "piano wire" or "music wire". It doesn't stretch, and will only kink if you make it. It can be a PITA to unravel enough to use, but there's no avoiding that.

This is okay but if it gets even the slightest kink it will break with even light pressure

The spool of wire I received had several bent rounds of wire and 2 strands of wire twist tied together, so the wire in the spool was not a single strand of wire. I need it too much to return it so I won't bother with that--I just wish the product had been better prepared. The spool has 3 copper wires that twist tie it and all three are on the same spot on the spool allowing the bulk of the spool wires to become tangled with each other in the box. Iffy at best for long spools of wire. I'd rather have the wire on a real spool.
