I use it to give my smoker an extra insulation during the cold and windy winter days in Chicago. It is super soft an easy to handle. You can cut and form it as you need it. Because it is relatively thick, you need strong neodymium magnets to keep it fixed. I testes some left over materials under open fire for several minutes and it holds. A little glow, a little smoke but not even close to a fire. Works like a charm for my purpose!

I like the size. It covers a big area and it does a good job of protecting things against welding splatter.

I bought these blankets to put on top of my wood burning stove. My cat had touched the top of the stove and burned his paws. I bought 4 of these blankets and some magnets, I have them on top and sides of my wood burning stove. They get hot, but you can touch them without getting burned.

Purchased these to support soldering on plumbing system. They do work (thus the 4 stars) but are not as fire resistant as I was expecting. In one instance, the blanket caught on fire! Just be aware of using these in tight spaces.

Using this to cover a pizza oven. Works though there seems to be a smell when it gets very hot. The blanket did that glowing hot (literally) one day when I had the burner cranked but cooled off without combusting or apparently harm.

I used it to keep parts from cooling too quickly which could result in cracks in the welds. Works very well. Decent size, good price.

This felt is awesome, it’s smooth, doesn’t make a mess when you cut it and it’s easy to use. I tested it against a flame and it doesn’t burn but if you put your hand on the other side, you will burn yourself after 15 seconds, so it doesn’t really protect from the heat as much as I was hoping for. Ceramic blankets are much better to isolate from high temperatures than this product. So for that, I gave it four stars, but for flame propagation retardation I highly recommend this product.
