Includes a shelf that can be used to either support the mailbox of your choice directly or used as a platform onto which your own mailbox adapter plate can support the mailbox. Please note that the MAILBOX IS NOT INCLUDED. Highwood high-grade poly lumber offers the most realistic look of natural wood WITHOUT the headaches of maintaining or replacing every few seasons. This is the last mailbox I will ever have to install. No rusting or peeling! It was so quick and easy. It took less than an hour. I just followed the simple directions. No problems at all. It looks fabulous at the curb

Very nice looking, sturdy mailbox post. I bought the black post and put a grey mailbox on it (my house is painted a med. grey with black shutters). Looks great! My nephew had no problems putting it together. I kept him company while he did it and there were no problems with it fitting together. You won’t be disappointed with this purchase. Well worth the money.

Replaced my rotting wooden one with this and can't be happier. It was easy to put together, is very durable/sturdy and looks fantastic. It originally arrived from amazon missing pieces. I called the manufacturer that afternoon and they had them delivered to me within 2 days. Excellent customer service from the manufacturer!

We are very happy with this mailbox post. We were given a very nice mailbox made of heavy cast aluminum and needed a good post to bare its weight (18lbs). We liked this design better than just some of the others. The base to attach the box is narrow. If you have a mailbox that is not heavy, then the attaching would be no problem. We decided to add another piece of wood to extend the width for the mailbox to sit on. It was fairly easy - cut, paint, drill holes, screw-on - but we also do alot of DYI projects. Installation of pole was easy as well. It came with good directiom. Overall we are very happy.

I had been looking for a mailbox post for a while when I found this one. I really like the simple, pretty style of the Hazleton, and liked the idea of not having to paint it every few years. It was important to me that the post be pretty much indistinguishable from real wood because that’s a requirement of my HOA, and this post really does look just like real wood - until you get to the post cap. Every part of the post itself is nicely detailed, sturdy, and wood textured. But the post cap is just slick, cheap, plastic. I tried replacing it with a wood cap, but couldn’t find one that fit properly and when I painted one up, it just didn’t match at all. So, I ended up painting the cheap plastic cap and using a brush to add some wood grain texture to it. It looks ok, but not great. I just don’t get why the company makes such a high quality product and then tops it off with junk. I would have given it 5 stars if not for that.

The mounting holes are not deep enough and have to be drilled out. The instructions indicate to put together outside after putting the post in the hole-DO NOT. Put it together inside because all this does is widen the hole in the ground. Also, the mailbox that is suggested to purchase with this post does not have the mounting holes drilled in the bottom. You have to mount it through the bottom AND THERE ARE NO HOLES. Worst purchase ever!
