This stuff is fabulous! The first time one of my platys had fry, I fed the babies crushed up regular food that I give my adult fish. Only one survived out of 10. I was really upset. The second time, I found out about this food and fed it to a batch of 13 babies. I fed them about 4 times a day, and it was clear they loved this food and could actually eat it with their teeny tiny mouths. Out of 13, only one died! (And I think he had swim bladder issues.) This food is just what you need to raise healthy, happy fry. I will never purchase anything else.

The product I received had a couple of years before its expiration, so I have been using it for successive generations of new fry without it expiring.Although pet stores say that you can crush regular fish food and feed to your fry, I would recommend using First Bites regardless. This is because:(1) It is easier to feed this food than constantly crushing new food. Yes, the crushed food will eventually get old and stale. Plus, it is harder to portion your crushed food, and you may be in danger of overfeeding your fish because your pieces may not be fine enough.(2) It is easier to measure portions. First Bites is a super fine powder that is easy to pick up and feed. To give an accurate representation, it has the consistency of something like baby powder.(3) This small package comes with a lot of food. Fry do not have to eat that much. For me, I kept my fry in the main tank but sectioned off in a "net-box." I fed them twice a day and fed them about a small pinch (or enough to cover the surface of the net-box).(4) Perfect size for fry. Fry are very tiny. They can only fit so much food in their mouths and their stomachs. From my experience, I have found that my fry have reacted well to this food.(5) Finally, my success rate. I have used this food in raising close to a hundred dalmatian mollies. By no means do I raise and sell fry professionally, but as a hobbyist, First Bites simplified the process and generated many healthy adult fish for my aquarium.

The little fry hung out in floating greenery. I didn't know how to feed them. My Son recomended First Bites Fish Food... The food is incredibly fine and the fry have all survived. I was happy to discover this product.

A immediate favorite. Small pellets tiny enough for new fry.My usually placid Bettafish become fighter fish when this food enters the tank.

Item arrived on time & is as described. The package is pretty small, but then I suppose baby fish / fry don't really need a large amount of food this fine before they are able to eat larger foods.I mixed it in a little water as recommended and it done just fine.***Be sure to use water from your aquarium, not tap water, as tap water has chemicals that can harm / kill your fish!***

I recently bred some Guppy fish and have a tank full of 'miniature' babies! This product is working out to be one of the best products I tried to feed these babies as the product 'floats' on the surface and doesn't sink to the bottom of the tank, allowing the babies ti investigate the food on the surface of the water. The product package was small so I thought that it would be insufficient but when scattering a small amount on the surface of the water I realised that the product really will last for the duration of the growth of the babies until they can eat 'proper' aquatic food. The package of the product is seal-able, so you can make sure it stays fresh and can be long lasting if you choose to breed more fish.Happy to recommend.

My first time raising Molly fry and they love it. It's ground up small like baby brine so it's easy to eat while they just swim through the tank and gobble it up. Not a single fry lost yet so far so good. It is a little pricey for what it is but the small bag will last a fair bit it looks like. I was crushing up fish granules before i received these for the first couple days to hold them over.
