This is not a "Self Locking Bistable" relay. The title is misleading. A Self-Locking Bistable Relay, also known as a latching relay, is a type of relay that maintains its last state without requiring continuous power, this does not.BE VERY CAUTIOUS of attaching the white connector to any rpi/mcu, as soon as it is turned on that terminal will have a +5V on it which is deadly to most modern MCUs including RPiAs other have mentioned, the quality is very low, out of 2 I got, one fried as I just pressed the onboard reset button!STAY AWAY!

I picked up an Aquaero 6 XT to help with monitoring my computer and to do an emergency shutdown in case operating parameters went out of bounds (pump broke, water too hot, clog, etc). The problem I had with the relay on the Aquaero 6 XT when I hooked it up to pin 16 on the ATX connector (power_on line) is once it opened the circuit and the machine shut off, the relay would immediately close and the system would power back on a few seconds later. (In other words logic I was seeing from the NC side of the Aquaero relay was on/off/on.) However if say the system is failing to stay cool, it is best if the system stays off until it can be examined for the fault. Putting the LiLetgo latching relay directly in line with pin 16 on the NC side and using pin 9 (5V standby power) to power this while hooking the NO side of the Aquaero 6 XT's relay (pin 2 instead of pin 1) (and pin 3 com) to the trigger switch on this latching relay did the trick as this treats a full off/on/off cycle from the Aquaero 6 XT as a single button press triggering as soon as the Aquaero relay goes on as the flop flop in this acts as a frequency halver just like any JK based flip flop would. In addition I have two ways to turn the system back on, either flip the power switch on the back of the computer and wait for the power supply cap to discharge as the relay will reset without power or after popping the hood and examining for faults, press the button on the relay, which I have mounted on the power supply in the case. There is a red LED on this for power and a green LED to indicate the relay is activated, so you can be pretty sure what state this is in in case the computer does not want to come back up and you are trying to diagnose the problem.Of course any time you are trying to hot wire an ATX power supply and you need a toggle function besides the switch in the back, this is something to consider as this just needs power from pin 9, the relay connected to pin 16 and then of course connections back to ground pin(s).

1) Put 5 volts DC & ground, 100mA into the DC+ & - terminals. You should now see a red led on.2) Hook up your AC or DC powered line to the COM (-) and NO (normally open, i.e., off) or NC (normally closed, i.e., on).3) Then either press the small button repeatedly, or BRIEFLY touch the 2 white wires coming from the board socket. You should hear the relay opening or closing. A small green LED will also cycle on & off.If the green led is off, current will flow between NO & COM terminals. If the green led is on, then current will flow between COM & NC.If you disconnect & reconnect the 5 Volts (DC + & - terminals), the relay state (& green led status) will retain its previous setting: Bi-Stable, or aka Latching! If manually touching the white wires it is easy to have the relay switch a bunch of times (very audible) and it may wind up off or on. A glancing touch is possible to do a simple switch. Or press the button, which is de-bounced.

They don’t work. The illustrated wiring instructions are incorrect. Even if you figure out the right way to connect it all, the rest button does nothing. It seems like the control portion and the electricity pass through portion are not connected at all.

I ordered four new latching relays for a project. Two didn't work right from the start. The other two worked ok, but not 100%. Returned the two non-working relays and ordered replacements. The replacements arrived and neither worked. And the other two were not functioning as expected. So returned them all and will look elsewhere.

I use this relay module to supply 5 VDC power to a Raspberry Pi4 in a modified Mini ITX case with a 5VDC Switch Mode PS. It enables you to use the front panel POWER on/off switch to turn the RPI on and off. It also allows you to turn turn the POWER led on and off at the same time when used in conjunction with a resistor. Works perfectly and is good value for the price. Recommended.

The unit is specified as operating range 7- 14 v dc. At 12volts the unit fries. There are no instructions other than on the amazon site description which states that the unit is supplied to work on the primary setting How do you alter the settings? I assume that the first setting is now to be noted as 7 volts? How can it be changed to 12 volts? I note the relay voltage on the relay is 5 volts and have now seen another buyer has the same issue. Surely this item should be better described as I personally feel that the description misrepresents the item.
