Precautions
1. Clean crucible tongs must be used when using.
2. When using crucible tongs to pick up a hot crucible, the tip of the tongs must be preheated to prevent the crucible from rupturing due to local cooling. After use, the tip of the tongs should be placed on the table top or asbestos net.
3. After the experiment, the pliers should be wiped clean, put in the experiment cabinet, and placed in a dry place.
4. Use the curved part to hold the crucible, and use the pointed tip when it is used.
5. Not necessarily used in conjunction with the crucible.

This is a nice kit I used for melting silver scrap into ingots so I could reuse it. The shapes in the ingot mold are a bit pointless, as molten metal (at least silver and gold) tends to make a blob, but at least the edges make sure it doesnt run off.

tongs are cheep and the ceramic crucible is rough, but the graphite crucible looks great. I haven't finished building the furnace it will be used with, so i dont have a functional test, but the dimensions are perfect (and adorable)

Product arrived promptly (no cracks or breaks).Tongs are flimsy and cheap making them somewhat unsafe for dealing with molten metal. Get new ones at your local hardware store or use needle nose pliers. This was expected for the price of the product. (1/5 stars.)The white bowl shaped crucible is ok. Be sure to use it with Borax. (4/5 stars)Cylinder graphite crucible is awesome. (5/5 stars)Coin/bar molds are deceptively small. The large coin slot is the diameter of a quarter and thick enough to only stack 2 quarters in it. (see picture). It takes 0.65 Troy Ounces of .925 silver to fill it.The smaller coin mold is too small to fit even a dime into, which is fine if you're dealing with gold. I have not used the bar molds yet.Durability wise I dropped the rectangular graphite coin molds accidentally from just over a foot high onto my concrete garage floor and it did not break. That's a good sign. For the whole mold set i'd say (5/5 stars) so long as you don't mind the small size.Overall, i'd give this product (4/5 stars) for first timers just starting out. My overall experience was positive with this product. Please see the photos I uploaded for size reference.

Came in damaged. Wish I would have took the reviews a bit more serious. This is a toy. If your wanting to melt any metal don't buy this.

The clamp holder I feel is not that get to use to hold the crucible. It feels like it could slip. The other pieces are of good quality.

The tongs were missing but according to other reviews were inferior quality and would be unsafe to use anyways.
