They act as both a lock washer and nut so can generally eliminate the need for lock washers and can be used with either sheet metal or machine screws.

This is a spring clip to be used where a threaded hole is not available. I used it on a cardboard glove box in my 39 Plymouth truck.

Not 1/4 x 20 thread..cheaply made ...not usable at all...breaks when you try to use it. want a refund but cannot obtain.
