Product Description

A bushing, is an independent plain bearing that is inserted into a housing to provide a bearing surface for rotary applications; this is the most common form of a plain bearing. The difference between the three types is that a solid sleeved bushing is solid all the way around, a split bushing has a cut along its length and a clenched bearing is similar to a split bushing but with a clench across the cut. A flanged bushing is a sleeve bushing with a flange at one end extending radially outward from the OD.

I used these as insulators against galvanic corrosion and rattling on some custom aluminum cooling fan brackets I made that use stainless fasteners. The ID is 1/4 in and the OD is 5/16. They worked well and were easy to trim to the length I needed using a fresh razor blade. I would buy them again and will probably be adding another size to my hardware collection as I found them quite useful.

Unused the bushings for the axles of this toy to go through. They worked great.

Read review stating these fit perfectly inside a 3/8 inch pipe, so I purchased them… well they do NOT! So disappointing. Back to searching for a size that will work. Otherwise they are nicely made.

These are great for eliminating metal on metal wear on parts which are adjusted frequently or slide in and out repeated. When they do wear out it's quick and simple to remove the old bushing and press in a new one.
