Hillman Fastener 372514 Mini Toggle Bolt, 5/16 X 4-Inch, 10-Pack

Toggle bolts come with spring-action wings and are intended for anchoring into hollow walls. The wing is designed to spread apart behind the base material upon installation for firm hold in hollow wall applications. The wing disperses the weight of the secured item over a larger area, increasing the weight that can be secured compared to a regular bolt.

Update (1/2/2025). Still held in place strong and without any sagging. Where do I find the sixth star?Hanging my bathroom barn door. The included hardware was junk but these little fellers did it perfectly.

I used these bolts to attach a barn rail door system to 1/4" drywall. Each rail had 6 bolts: 3 were original bolts that came with the system that screwed into studs, but 3 didin't go into studs, hence the need for toggle bolts for the remaining 3. They worked perfectly for this use and the rail system is now tight to the wall. Easy to use and install -- the only caveat is that you need to make a hole as wide as the compressed toggle (in this case about 3/4") so you need a gasket of some kind to hide the hole (my rail system had those).

It is a very sturdy picture hanger. It requires a 7/8" hole for the butterfly wings.

I needed this size toggle bolt and could not find it locally. These toggle bolts are well made and worked fine in my application which was to anchor tie points for ropes on my pickup truck bed. I am sure they would work well for their normal function of anchoring in walls too.

I needed "only" the toggle with a 5/16 thread. It is a 5/16 thread. It was a perfect match and I was able to complete a restoration project.The toggle bolts came in a very beefy and sturdy box.Thank-you.
