Quality solid brass wire makes for a good choice when making jewelry - it will develop a patina ifit's not sealed with a clear coat, but it won't stain like copper. It's also a stiffer metal thancopper/aluminum and will retain a shape better.

The wire is Ok if what you really want is 18ga brass wire. Hillman is now passing off 18ga as 16ga wire. I have been using the Hillman 16ga brass wire for a long time and just now ran out and am so dissapointed in the replacement. I use 16ga sterling silver wire also so I have a comparrison. The Hillman is thinner. The new packaging is a clue to what you will get. New packaging =18ga.
