Works great for trying to find wind. I have always used other methods for finding wind direction but this is much simpler.

I've tried a few brands of wind checker, and this one is pretty useless. It seems they took gymnastic chalk, shoved it in a bottle that's just a bit too bulky for hunting, and called it good.When you check wind, you need a quick puff that floats in the breeze. If you try to puff this stuff right side up, nothing comes out. If you turn it upside down to get the chalk into the cap, it just falls out onto the ground. If you tip it, then use it upright it almost works but it takes a lot of effort and the chalk isn't fine enough to travel in the breeze; it just falls to the ground. When I'm hunting I need my attention on other things, not fiddling with this multiple times for almost no result.I'll stick with smoke in a bottle; it's always worked perfectly. This was a wasted purchase.

This stuff is clumpy so it doesn't come out as fine dust, instead comes out in clumps and drops straight to the ground. maybe 10% of it is dust. I wouldn't buy this again. I'd pay twice as much for the Primos brand stuff.
