I would not suggest the Aeroscout as a first airplane. It does fly very well and is docile when competently flown, but because it is big, it is also heavy, and not proportionately stronger than the small beginner airplanes. Ergo, a botched landing usually results in damage to the nose wheel, which can be re-glued, yes, but not indefinitely. And when it really augers in nose first, the fuselage breaks just behind the main landing gear, and that’s a pretty difficult fix.On the plus side, again, it flys very well and is satisfying for aerobatics short of stunt flying. I’ve had three of them (first one lost to auger-in, second one flew into the sun, and third one now resides in a 500’ tree). But I have a 4th one still in the box, waiting for spring. For the price, it is a lot of airplane.

I’ve been flying RC for a long time. I purchased this plane to use as a trainer at my local club. It excels as a trainer and the AS3X and SAFE work as advertised. Price is good for how much you get performance wise.The real fun with this plane is when you take it out of trainer mode. Its is wildly aerobatic, and very capable as an aerobatic trainer and practice plane. I fly it more than my big gas airplanes!

Just got this little bad boy had problem with the first one but easy and fast exchange and this one is great flyer period in wind no wind very good plane. I highly recommend it. !!

easy to learn on and surprisingly capable for a beginner plane. Even as I grow as a pilot I’ll always enjoy flying it just because it’s fun

The Aeroscout is designed to be a trainer for new RC Plane pilots. But I've already been flying since 2011 and am proficient. I purchased this plane because it flies so well and is aerobatic. It has a rugged tricycle landing gear with large wheels that can travel over short cut grass. I also think it can be modified to carry a camera for FPV (First Person View) during flight. It's an easy plane to fly. I recommend it.

This is one of the best electric R/C planes ever. GREAT for a beginner as well as experienced flyer. In “experienced “ mode will do loops and rolls. Definitely get one. Great value. I bought floats for mine to fly on the snow. SUPER!
