I consider it as a must have, for anyone who’s taking videos by themselves, and wanting to achieve a more professional appearing outcome.This Gimbal has several great features, some built within, such as, a detachable remote control, a built in tripod, and a built in extension rod, aka selfie stick. It doesn’t need to be connected to a separate app, or require assistance from someone else, to successfully obtain the desired and accurate outcome you’re looking for.The use of the remote control, offers hands free use of the stabilizer, even from a distance of up to approximately 33 feet. You can still achieve accurate outcomes, with the use of the extendable selfie stick as well as the tripod. Because it provides for greater stability, your outcome will result in much clearer images. In addition to all of that, it has the ability to respond to gestures, accomplished because, the AI tracking sensor has 3 magnetic fill lights. The fill lights can provide, warm light, cool light or neutral light, depending on the available natural light around you.The power source, is a rechargeable battery, and can be recharged using the included USB-C charging cable. I got this gimbal to replace an older one I have that does not fold and is not to take on the go. My favorite features are the built-in tripod, detachable remote, and the AI tracker that does require the hohem app to use. I have been using it for about a month now and really like it!Positives: 1. Removeable remote control 2. Built-in tripod that is easy to use 3. Folds making it easy to carry and stow 4. Pull out extension Rod is 8 inches and comes in handy 5. Easily handles an iPhone Pro Max 6. USB-C charging portWarnings 1. My phone is a max and it’s a little hard for tool to center my phone. I kind of wished it would auto stabilize, but you kind of have to play around in order to do it - and even after doing it, I don’t feel confident with it because it moves around too much. The stabilization was alright when I was moving around, but it didn’t feel like it. I also didn’t like the magnetic light because it gets unclipped very easily.

This is a very good gimbal, there is no denying or discredit that, but it is a challenge to use for beginners. The settings and included manual are not very precise and I relied heavily on YouTube videos made my 3rd parties to learn how to operate it. Overall the function and quality is pretty darn good for the price.My unit arrive damaged, and the tripod base has 1 leg that extends further and is bent from the others. The device does not sit level on a table or a surface on the tripod and that is too bad because it was a feature I was excited about. I usually film on my own and this would have helped. The gimbal will try to compensate and adjust but it's not enough. Box was fine, but item should have not left the factory like this. Overall good entry level 3-axis gimbal, but hopefully you get a better one than I did.

One star off because the AI tracker only has two tiny orange buttons it clicks into. It doesn’t feel like a secure fit making it easy to dislodge accidentally and very easy to lose.

I am a novice when it comes to using a gimbal for phone stabilization but I wanted to get more into videography. This Hohem iSteady is a really good stabilizer and it offers a ton of features that I have yet to figure out.The manual is good, but you really need to know some of the basics of this kind of stuff to be effective. I would highly recommend the iSteady V3 and it does almost everything anyone could want. The battery life is also solid too.
