Our mantle is 3+1/2" thick and has a rounded front that extends 3/4" from top edge. Most stocking holders are unsafe with this curved front. I found some that curve back underneath, but they only extend back about 1", which is only 1/4" back from the actual top edge (not safe). These simple, inexpensive, hooks do the job.Based on the pics, I was expecting them to be pretty ugly. While they are not beautiful, they're not ugly either. They exceeded my expectations. With other things on the mantle, these are pretty unobtrusive. The clear plastic hook is triangular in shape and acts a bit like a prism. They look almost silver in light. The plastic is fairly strong. I attached an 8 lb weight, and the hook held well. I wasn't super confident with that weight, but 5 lbs should be no problem.I can't speak to longevity. Plastic fatigue might be a problem. However, giving these 5 stars. Simple, inexpensive, functional.Pics: 1 showing 8 lb weight. 2 side pics (one with weight and one with empty stocking)

Great buy. Sturdy enough to even fit on shingles. Can’t even tell they’re there.

I didn’t want to spend a lot for holiday stocking hooks. Came across these and they are perfect for my application. They are modern looking and definitely plastic but have some give and flex, not brittle. They do pick up a little glow from the lights on the mantle, which is nice. The rubber foot on the wood that holds them in place will not damage or scratch. They are a nice shape and do arc off the mantle. Holds the stockings well. No problems. Good option if you don’t want to spend a lot and want a more modern look vs traditional. They will take minimal space when packing them up for season, which is a factor for me.

Being a little OCD, it was driving me crazy to put Christmas lights in my windows that weren't straight. I hung them with Command clips, so the wire was pretty straight, but the wire, being twisted, would just let the lights go all over the place and it didn't look right (see photo of my window. The left side had the lights hung with the hooks). So I went in search of suction cups that would hold each individual light where I wanted it. Enter this product. You can see in the picture that instead of using the clip to hold the wire, I put it on the individual light. from the outside, they were all lined up nicely (right side of the window). It made me happy. The only "negative" is that not all of the suction cups stayed put during the Christmas season. Some came loose. Some didn't hold the light correctly. I'm okay with that because overall, it looked good, and I know the clips weren't made to hold the lights. I just wish someone would manufacture something that would hold well, with a clip that's MEANT to hold the individual lights (hint, hint). Maybe not hold the light bulb, but the light "fixture." Anyway, this worked really well for the money. I'll buy another pack for my Halloween lights.

We have been using these for years and just had to buy more for expanding family. They do not mark up the mantle and the hold heavy, filled stockings. Initially I bought them just to display the stockings before Christmas, but was delighted to find that they also hold them after they are filled!I also love that they don't take up as much room as the weighted stocking holders and these don't tip once they have been filled.
