I love the size of this. Ten inches and round. I use it for sourdough bread as my kitchen is a bit too cool to get the fermentation process going. While it doesn't have a specific temperature control setting I am able to make it work. The max temperature is about 85 degrees F. I can set a plate on the heating pad and then set my starter on the plate and the temp for my starter is about 75 degrees F. So overall this is a big thumbs up for me.

Far too warm for fermenting wine or beer as advertised, or even sourdough -- temperatures exceed 100F -- it is advertised as 50-65 degrees CELSIUS, which i should've noticed, but they indicate it is suitable for wine or beer brewing, which it is NOT. it is FAR TOO HOT. be careful you don't ruin your fermentation with this device.

I am currently using this to grow sweet potato slips. I have 3 glass jars sitting on it containing water and sweet potatoes suspended in the water and it keeps the water at the top and the sweet potato at 70 degrees. I have used it for fermenting and sour dough starter too. I use a stoneware bowl on it with a flour sack towel in the bowl and then the jar with starter inside the bowl so it doesn’t get too hot but it keeps it warm like 70-80 degrees. This is great in my cold kitchen.
