This type of mop was once ubiquitous. You would find it at the drugstore or Walmart or (going back even further) Woolworth's! But lately, sponge mops have been usurped by Swiffer dusters and string mops.With two puppies at home I am constantly cleaning the floors of my home. Getting that string mop out is a production and it takes forever to dry. It also drips all over the place.This HomeMaid sponge mop is perfect. You wet it, add some soap to the floor, and voila: great for spot cleaning. That is when I am being lazy: again, I clean pet accidents half-dozen times a day. For a more thorough job I used the kitchen sink or a bucket.Very easy to use and the floor looks great. When the sponge reaches its max, I will just switch it out for a new one.I have used this mop 7 to 8 x a day (2 puppies at home) since I bought it about a month ago. When it is time to change the mop head, don't be afraid to use some force: it is not delicate and there is no special trick to getting the new head attached, just pressing down hard enough (1 stud at a time--there are 2) until it snaps into place!

Quickie made the best butterfly mops anywhere, but you can't find them any more. Thank goodness these Lola mop heads are a perfect fit!

When I first started to use it, I was unimpressed. It's not particularly well built, though it's initially functional. However, during that first use, on about the 10th squeeze, the sponge stopped reopening fully without help. Completely unacceptable. Another, cosmetic, issue is that the yellow sponge stains quickly and doesn't wash out; it looks ratty after even one use. This is a mop, dealing with floor grime - it needs a darker sponge to disguise the filth it accrues. A light-colored sponge on a mop makes little sense.

Seems a bit flimsier than my last one from years ago... also, when I go to squeeze it and my hand is on the part nearest the sponge, if I don't remember I get pinched or it is sharp where there is a space on the green part... but it does the job... and
