The wonder of Amazon is that you can ask for products you hope exist, but you don't know if they do. Thus, I got tired of cream cheese containers falling apart, and thought, "Why not see if Amazon has a cream cheese container?" Lo and behold, they do! And this is made specifically for those horizontal boxes of cream cheese (not the tubs). You can put the entire package into the container, or just the foil-wrapped part into it. You also could open it up entirely and put the cream cheese into it, then open it and with a butter knife get what you need. Yes, when you're done you'll need to rinse it out, but I think this is the preferred way. Like I said, I was hoping this existed, and it not only does, it is perfect for what I needed.

DonΓ’β¬β’t buy this cheapie plastic thing. ItΓ’β¬β’s worth about a dollar. The hinge looks like itΓ’β¬β’ll break after a few times of opening and closing it. A regular cream cheese block does not fit in this container with or without the foil you have to smash it in. ItΓ’β¬β’s always up and around the rim because itΓ’β¬β’s so tightly closed in there. DonΓ’β¬β’t waste your money!
