This is a good wedge. What makes it good? Its angles are correct, which means it easily starts and finishes a split. Many wedges sold on here don't have this feature - and if you have ever tried to split with one of those, you know how hard it is, as the wood resists the split and the wedge bounces out. Simple tools require the correct physical properties and this one does just that. Recommended.

The wedge is 5 lbs. of solid iron. I was able to pound it into all the pieces of wood I was unable to split with just a maul alone. I was able to successfully split all the wood with this item. Excellent.

Excellent wedge of the highest quality. Does and a great job of splitting big rounds of dry Hickory with my 8 pound sledge.

Product arrived. It is essentially so lightweight, it might as well have been air. Does not work as intended. Extremely disappointed in this product.
