You may need to manually slice the insulation to guarantee wire contact with the teeth that are supposed to slice the insulation. Before adding the waterproofing grease, screw down the cap and test out the connections by checking the built in led test lights. Other than that great product.

I bought this so I could just use the wire setup I had and worked really well. I really like the indicator lights. Made it easier to setup by myself. What I didn't like about it is the rubber it's made out of is really soft, and is getting harder now that it's been in the weather. Not sure if will last very long but so far so good.

Internal connectors would not pierce the wire insulation. When I manually stripped back the insulation the connection was inconsistent- lights would flicker or not work at all. The plug is not sealed at all, so if you use this on a boat trailer water will get in and you will have corrosion. The product is a good idea, but did not work in my application. 2016 Jeep Wrangler.

I liked the simplicity of cutting off the original (very old) connector and replacing it with this unit. It included the LED lights that verify the proper connections.

This made me crazy.Wired into a harness but nothing worked.Long story short, I had to manually put two small incisions on either side of each wire as the “push in prong†connectors were not penetrating the wire sheath to make a connection.Seems to be well made, but was not a good fit for me.Manufacturer’s customer service offered to replace them, but that was not going to solve my issue.

I had accidentally damaged my hitch wiring and found this replacement part on Amazon. It seemed too easy, but it really was no problem to install and get working. I had to take it off the first time because I did not check to be sure I had cut away enough of the old, frayed wiring. Once I did, it was easy to attach and worked well.

Easy to install in minutes with simple tools. At under $20 for the unit is a lot cheaper than the mechanic charger $145 for similar service.Looks durable, will know more after it has been in use for a longer period of time. Thinking of ordering a second one to keep in the side pocket of the SUV "just in case..."

The prong that sticks out completely pulled out of the socket when I went to unplug it from the trailer side
