I needed easy access and not necessarily covertness. While Im sure this would work wonderfully as displayed, I anchored mined to a concrete wall raised 2x4 height off the floor. Can the safe locker be pried ….yes but it is a sturdy anti theft deterrent that would take considerable time to pry. The locks all work perfectly. I programmed the combination quite easily, the same for the RFID devices. The tubular keys make for fail safe reentry. The safe is quite roomy and accommodates three long guns nicely. If you mount vertically you can remove the gas/spring door assist rods before mounting it gives more floor space. I chose to leave mine in place because I like the way it springs open=(forgot to take off before I mounted) …I rarely write reviews but when a good deal comes along I want my fellow aficionados to take advantage! Watch out for the balloon people!

i do agree that this makes a loud noise upon popping open but this is to be expected as if this units door did not open in this fashion you would not have immediate unrestricted access to your firearms. this fits perfectly in my front entry way closet. the included wrist band, key fob, and rfid chips are also very helpful. this is the perfect right in between super secure and convenient. Hornady you have done it again.

There was damage to three corners from poor handling through shipping, and no return contact by customer service to address my concerns over it so I deducted a star in overall rating. The safe is well made and very sturdy, easy to program opening devices, however upright mounting makes access far more difficult than it should be so I deducted one star for easy to use, and being half the price of my large Liberty home safe caused me to deduct one star from value for the money. After a few months I can say I'm glad I bought it and would still recommend it for anyone who is willing to stay armed wherever they travel by car, and are willing to bolt it in place and not just rely on the cable for security. This was the large unit and it will hold a tactical pump shotgun with pistol grip, sporting rifle with 16" barrel and rail mounted accessories, and lever action rifle as well with plenty of room for spare magazines, cartridge belt and slings. If you are willing to carry just the sporting rifle there is room for a tactical vest as well

This product works as advertised and I'm very happy with it. All the sensors and automation work as advertise and is not a gimmick.

I’m missing the RFID Key Fob Tag. Everything that came inside the box is in the picture. Excited to setup it up. But wanted the key fob. Tried to replace the item through Amazon but it doesn’t give me that option. Gonna try contacting Hornady.

Just out of the warranty, no life at all even with fresh batteries. I am really disappointed.

Built like a Sherman tank. Installed in back of wagon in 5 minutes. Has nice features (ext. pwr., RFID TAGS, barrel keys). Easily holds two rifles securely.

Don't know where they have these made, but as noted in other reviews, you may have to return two or three till you get one of acceptable quality. Don't feel bad, and don't accept less than what you paid for. First one had glue slopped all over the outside. They can replace it several times and still make a profit. The rapid open RFID technology is the only selling point of this product. The key lock can be picked in ten seconds with a ballpoint pen. Like most profit driven items, you have to modify or change out components to make it work like it should. Sad for the Hornady family. They spent decades building up a good reputation. Update - the second one was ok, so far.
