Hurts your ears and cars will hear you. I mostly use my regular bell but this comes in clutch. Wish I had it long ago.Handles rough riding fine. Haven’t ridden in rain yet.

I purchased to put on my ATV's. Super loud. The one sound is the same as a smoke detector. Ear piercing! The horn sound is as loud as a car horn. If the hold up in the weather the will be an amazing ad to my 4-wheelers. Easy to install.

I picked this up to supplement the anemic built-in horn on my e-TWOW scooter. I don't know if it measures up to its advertised dB, but it is plenty loud. I ride through Manhattan, including Times Square, and the horn does a pretty good job of clearing people out of the bike lanes. It isn't loud enough to get through to people wearing airpods or big over the ear headphones. The unit is sleek and attractive. I wanted to mount it on my stem, but the included clamps were too small and the wire to the button too short. I was able to put the horn on one side of the handlebar and the button by my throttle thumb, which is a perfect place. It is a little tricky to keep the horn and button clear of the releases for my handlebars, but it works out OK. I have to keep the horn aimed down a little bit so that it doesn't interfere with my hand/thumb reaching the electronic brake lever. Minus one star for the limited mounting options (though they do try to offer different sizes and spacers, almost all too small for e-scooter) and lightweight connecting wire. The starter batteries died the other day and I felt really uneasy riding without the horn. That says something. Good choice for city riders.

I wanted a bike horn loud enough to get attention from cars if needed. I think this one would probably do it.It also has a softer sound for sidewalk use.It seems well made and so far I’ve not had to replace the battery. It has a handy slot for plugging the cable into when not in use to save the battery and also avoid accidentally setting the horn off when folding my bike.I have an “Lectric XP lite†folding bike and transport it inside my suv.

I shopped around for WEEKS and I'm happy I bought this one.Cycling is my main source of commuting, whether for work, fun, or exercise. I live in midtown Manhattan and cycling here is a sport only for the brave or the idiotic. Bike horns (not bells) have saved my life multiple times. When my old horn fell apart (and so did its replacement...), I searched for a new one that met all my requirements. The only thing that worried me about this horn was the fact that it used standard alkaline batteries instead of being USB-rechargeable. I took a risk because it's very hard to find a product that is as loud as this one claims to be, without a bunch of extra nonsense. (I don't want a motion detector alarm! I don't want a remote control! I don't need an LED screen!) I've been using this for about a month and a half now, and have not had to replace the batteries. And trust me, I use this a LOT.I wish there were different noise settings. My old one had five different sounds you could cycle through (no pun intended). But this horn still gives you the option of a quick push (a little chirp) or a hold (piercing siren). The handlebar "remote" is very convenient and easy in an emergency traffic situation. The horn (which sounds more like a siren) is VERY loud. I don't know how to measure or estimate decibel levels, but I know this is loud as hell. This has truly saved me from some potentially horrendous accidents with drivers who do not pay attention to cyclists. I haven't really tested the waterproofness but the light exposure to rain has been fine.THIS IS THE ONE YOU WANT

It’s a loud shreak rather than the sound of a horn. Very disturbing. A horn is intended to alert, not frighten. I guess you’re supposed to adjust pressure on the button to choose a horn sound. Installation required an Allen wrench and a small Phillips head screwdriver, neither of which were included. Note: This is not rechargeable. Batteries need to be replaced. Old technology and annoying. I suppose you’ll know the batteries have faded when no sound is produced when you need it. Kinda late there, Larry. The handlebar mounts did not fit, so I needed to purchase one that did. It was colored black, like my bike, which, finally, is not a complaint. Perhaps I’m having a bad day and a bike horn is not critical accessory, but those annoyances add up, ya know? I hope your day is better.

I have a huge problem on Key Largo of cars not being aware of bikes on the designated bike/walking paths. Even after making eye contact w drivers, they still pull in front of me, cutting me off. This horn is loud and gets the attention of drivers with their windows open. No car with windows closed and probably AC and music on, has reacted in any way when I use this.So slow down at all intersections and wait for a wave from drivers before entering intersections, even though you have the right of way. From an old Driver’s Ed Teacher: Right of way is given, not taken.

Purchased for my wife a few days ago and received it today. Tried it out with a couple blasts on each setting. this is incredibly loud...so much louder than any of the video reviews shows it to be. Louder than we thought it would be...VERY VERY LOUD!!! We are talking seriously loud. (you got my point by now I'm sure). Great for mountain biking to scare any bears off the trail and great for a touring bike or road bike to alert vehicles that they are about to cut you off and loud enough to make any charging dog turn tail and run. I would say it's as loud or louder as the Airzound Horn I've had for a few years. So I just purchased one of these Hornits for my road bike. My new goal in life is to get every cyclist I know to get a Hornit db140 horn.

The claims of "world's loudest horn" are relevant but not the key issue. I think cyclists intending to use the horn in traffic will see this as a blessing .... it's definitely loud enough to grab the attention of cars and lorries who need to be aware of the cyclist's presence. However, I think that using this to warn pedestrians might actually be a bit dangerous in itself ... the horn is so loud that it could easily startle or confuse pedestrians especially pensioners and children. Use with caution!! We ended up adding a bit of cloth to our horn to slightly "baffle" the sound so now pedestrians will be aware, but won't have a heart attack!!
