I love it ! It is extremely convenient and I don’t have to make sure I craft near an outlet 😃 I’m finishing up a few items on my bed, watching a movie.

I have one of these cordless glue guns in my upstairs craft room. It is made by Ryobi and it works great. I am constantly running upstairs to use it in the garage and so sometimes if I forget to put it back, I have to go and get it from the garage. Anyway to stop this annoying habit I decided to try this glue gun. This is what I have found from several uses. What I like..1.. Fits my Dewalt batteries without issues. Some of these knockoff "Dewalt cordless tools" have trouble getting the batteries to slide in all the way without force. This one is smooth installing and removing batteries.2.. Has battery charge LED indicators. Most of my Dewalt older batteries do not, so this is helpful.3.. It has a switch to turn on/off the glue gun to start the heating process. The switch has a very bright LED light that lets you know the unit is on. It takes about 5 minuets to be ready to use.4.. The nozzle has a silicone boot around it to protect you in case you accidentally touch it.5.. The Gun will stand up and not tip over with a battery installed.6.. The nozzle does not ooze or drip after each use. Even my Ryobi drips. There is even a silicone drip catcher that you can swing out.7.. you get 20 glue sticks included, so you can practice right away. Not sure of the quality of the sticks, but at least you have some. What I don't like about and feel there is room for improvement.1.. It does not get that hot and the glue can cool down quickly. Sometimes so quick you don't have chance to stick it to the other surface. This may also be a problem with the provided glue sticks, I am not sure. I have used 3 sticks so far.2.. There is no auto off feature. The gun will stay hot until you turn off the switch.3.. There is no heat setting.4.. The gun falls over when you do not have a battery installed.I will mostly use this in the garage for quick temporary glue ups. Just to hold something in place until the real glue dries, or I can nail or screw it into place. This is especially helpful if you work by yourself and have a long board or molding. It also works for pattern routing templates. I use These glue guns for my Diorama craft building projects. You can make cobwebs, icicles, saliva, dripping blood, spilled oil, ect.Bottom line.. Since this gun works well with my Dewalt batteries I am happy with it. I think there is room for improvement, but until then I will get plenty of use from it. It will not replace my Ryobi glue gun in anyway, because that one has the features above that this one does not have. If you already have the Dewalt cordless platform, then this should work. If you are using Ryobi cordless tools, then I would get the Ryobi glue gun. This is my opinion; I hope this helps....

This hot glue gun takes a milwaukee battery. It heats up pretty quick and you're able to get gluing in no time. I like being able to use some of the tons of Milwaukee and offbrand batteries and getting other tools to use with them. Used this on a few projects already, no issues. Definitely recommend.

I did not realize this comes without a battery, and that is my fault for not reading more closely, but it seems an odd way to sell a tool like this as it cannot be used unless you buy the specific piece that it needs, and that is not a find anywhere item. I would have much preferred a higher price with the battery included. I can't comment on how it works as I will have to research and buy the battery piece before I will be able to use it. Update: I have looked them up, and they are VERY EXPENSIVE - so much so that I will not be getting one and this item is therefore useless to me. It is hard for me to imagine that people have unused batteries of this type lying around not connected to something else which would make this separate purchase make sense, but I may be wrong about that.

We've had an old corded glue gun around the house for literally 30 years. It worked... that's about all I'll say. This is such a huge step up. It's more powerful, heats up more quickly, has a much better trigger, and I'm not constantly trying to flop the cord around to make sure that it's not in the way, won't tip the gun over onto its side once I set it down, etc. It also gives you extra maneuverability for getting glue into more difficult spaces, and you don't have to be near an outlet. Just a really great thing to have on hand. You'd be surprised at how useful hot glue is if you haven't used it in a while!

I used this for about 6 weeks multiple times a day installing Christmas lights. My Ryobi is a great glue gun that’s well made, so I’ll compare them:This is taller, yet is more stable that the Ryobi with the same size battery installed. Stands on its own or with a battery, unlike my Ryobi. MyRyobi does seem to heat up slightly faster but this gun seems to preserve battery. I hate the Ryobi green, so this takes the W in appearance. Weights are comparable - this might be slightly larger and heavier. This is a great value and I would have bought this over the Ryobi since I was already invested in the M18 line of batteries. This works well and is easy to use. No problems. Great hot glue gun for those invested in Milwaukee but don’t want to spend Milwaukee money.
