For what it is, it works and completes the task. It's definitely light weight as compared to other more OEM options, but I am not sure if this will lend well to longevity. Hard to know at this point as it was only used briefly so far. It does require assembly, but it's not hard at all. There's only one actual screw that is needed to be installed with a screwdriver - the rest just slide/twist locks together. Which this also means that if you feel like you need to have a portable unit, or want to break it down to put it more easily in a trunk or something, this will do that task well. Quality seems decent, but it's not the same OEM quality you'd get by buying name brand. But, this should be expected at this price point. If you are rough or careless with your tools, you might find a failure point faster than OEM. The head adjusts to use the roller wheel to edge along concrete - which works well enough and is definitely more sturdy than just free hand holding it. Yet to be seen how the roller assembly holds up over time. Being an electric tool, it's not overly heavy and the motor head seems powerful enough to do most/any trimming tasks, and it's relatively quiet. The one downside that I can for sure point out, is the string assembly is a bit of an enigma. This is not a bump feed head. And there's not much documentation on the string head, so it's kind of a mystery. I can't tell if it's trying to auto feed the string, or if you have to use the button on the side of the head to advance the string manually. The string spool is wound up, and then you rotate the spool to wind it up like a spring, so that the spring will advance the string as it unspools. It's probably very similar to other non-bump-fed spool heads, but I do not have experience with those. If you don't need anything sophisticated, just something cheaper than the rest, to do the task at hand, this will do the job. But with the understanding that this is a 'compatible with' product, which might not come with all the same quality or longevity levels as buying the more expensive OEM tools.

When I put the pieces together, the bottom section was reversed could not lay flat on the ground. Tried multiple combinations adjustments could not get it to set up as shown in the picture. I am returning it. I may buy another. Maybe it was a fluke with this particular tool!!?

I'm very happy with my purchase of this lightweight and powerful cordless string trimmer! I've used this to cut long grass and it cut with ease. Well built, fairly quiet, smooth operation, and very maneuverable. I like the angle adjustability of the trimmer head and handle, as it makes for easy use and storage. I used to own a rechargeable string trimmer that didn't have a detachable battery pack. I feel like this one is lighter and just as powerful, but more convenient and versatile because I'm able to detach the battery pack at any time and power my now growing collection of Dewalt battery pack powered power tools. If you're looking for a convenient, lightweight, and powerful cordless string trimmer, look no further. Buy this!

For the price it works well.1. It only has one string instead of the standard two. (Slower cutting)2. It is much shorter than a standard trimmer. (The head does rotate so that can be mitigated)3. Comparing it to the Milwaukee it feels like a much Cheaper tool in every aspect. With that in mind for the price and using it residentially it should work great.
