HP96-Color Plattes

For better image clarity:

  • Inspecting distance: Recommended within 6.56 feet
  • Inspecting Time: Early morning or night that with significant temperature difference.
  • Color Palettes: Flexibly choose appropriate palette based on the scene being observedlike gray for focusing on details, rainbow for high contrast, and iron for general use..

Accurate temperature reading

Adjustable emissivity

For Better Readings Accuracy:

  • The HP96 is equipped with emissivity parameters for common objects. (e.g. metal, ceramic, cement, etc.)
  • Select the the emissivity according to the material to be measured before the inspection, and adjust an approximate temperature range to ensure more accurate temperature measurements.
  • For better readings accuracy, it is recommended to keep regular-sized targets within 6.56 feet (2 meters) of the thermal camera. If the target is larger, you can increase the distance to achieve a wider angle of view.

HP96-Data transfer

Easy to Transfer Data

Equipped with a USB C to USB A cable.

Note 1 : Please contact HSFTOOLS if you need USB C to USB C cable.

Note 2 : To transfer data, you need to turn off the cast screen function first.

The HP96 has undergone a 2-meter drop test and has an IP54 protection rating, ensuring confidence and reliability in various work scenarios and even in harsh environments.

FAQ

Q1: Can a thermal imager see through walls?

Thermal imagers create images by capturing the thermal radiation on the surface of objects, and it is unable to see through walls unless there is a sufficient temperature difference behind them.

Q2: How does a thermal imager detect water leaks?

Step 1. Selection of Testing Time: It is recommended to test the building after it has been subjected to thermal loads (e.g., after sunlight exposure on a hot, dry, sunny day) because the temperature difference between the leaking area and the normal area will be more pronounced at this time.

Step 2. Perform a Water Pressure Test: Use a water pressure gauge to check the water pressure at each faucet and fixture. Utilize a pressurizing device to determine if the water line is maintaining proper pressure. If there is a drop in water pressure, it can help determine if the cold or hot water line is leaking.

Step 3. Using Thermal Imager: If the leak is in the hot water line, let the hot water run for 15-30 minutes until the temperature of the water line is visible on the thermal imaging device. Check the location of the leak along the hot water line. If the leak is in the cold water line, pour hot water into the cold water line and wait 15-30 minutes to observe.

Q3: Why does the thermal imager occasionally calibrate itself?

Thermal imaging cameras are automatically calibrated to changes in ambient temperature to counteract the effect of changes on the accuracy of the detector. This process usually occurs when the camera is moving quickly or when it is first switched on, the screen will stutter and display ‘calibrating’ and there may be a ‘clicking’ sound from within the instrument.

The HSFTOOLS HP96 Thermal Imaging Camera is a game-changer! I've been using it for a few weeks now, and I'm consistently impressed with its performance and ease of use. The Live Super Resolution feature makes a huge difference in image clarity, and the dual cameras provide excellent detail and contrast. The touchscreen interface is intuitive and responsive, and the built-in video and audio recording are incredibly useful.I've used the HP96 for everything from home inspections to DIY projects, and it's always delivered accurate temperature readings and helped me identify potential problems quickly. The temperature alarm feature is a lifesaver, and the ability to switch between image modes and color palettes is a great bonus. The HP96 is a fantastic value for the price, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a reliable and easy-to-use thermal imaging camera.

Perfect for 90% of peoples needs. Impressive that this tech is now so cheap. Even picks up my footsteps on my carpet. No issues after 4 months. Several friends have borrowed it to look for heat loss on their houses and are all fans.

I’ve ordered two of these, but had to return both since they stopped working in a very short period of time. The last one I ordered would just shut down, even just after I would fully charge the battery. I believe it was an issue related to the battery charging because it seemed like it never had enough battery to work for more than a few minutes. It was defective, not a design flaw. Please know that I love this item and this brand!! It is handy for so many different things. It offers a lot of features and has a nice touchscreen. Just be aware, like with any electronics, that it can fail. Given the cost of this, I recommend purchasing an extended warranty through Amazon to be on the safe side, as it is a great handy item! I do recommend this product. Once I see it on sale again, I will purchase it again WITH an extended warranty, then I can rest assured.UPDATE (March 2025): Wow! HFS Tools saw my review and is sending me a replacement unit! What outstanding customer service! Kudos to this great company and for caring about their customers and ensuring they are satisfied! I added a star to my review because HFS Tools truly takes good care of their customers.

This is my first device like this so I don’t have experience with another to compare it to. I’ve used it for automotive checks and to take look in the woods at my house to quickly access exactly what it is that my dogs are barking at. I found it to be easy to use. It has some customizations that are easy to navigate and set. It looks and feels to be made well. Nice portable size and weight. Does everything I need for the price.

Updated Review:The company reached out to us and replaced the unit via Amazon (not hand picked) despite the fact that we already returned the camera. The new camera works fantastic and has been excellent at finding thermal leaks in our house when the temperature is substantially different outside (i.e. hot summer). The distinguishing power of the sensors doesn't seem to be enough for small thermal differences, but it is enough for a homeowner. At the original $160 (2024) price, the camera is a great value and an excellent alternative to to a single point IR sensor (the cheap thermal guns at the big box stores). The only downside is the device takes a few seconds every time it calibrates, which is maybe once a minute. The device is more responsive as long as the battery is charged.Original Review:Thermal imaging camera arrived with no charge and missing screen protection peel. After several hours on the charger, the battery would not gain any charge despite the solid red charing light. I was able to briefly operate the camera via an external battery, but the interface was slow and occasionally the camera would lag out for a few seconds. Currently significantly cheaper than FLIR or other alternatives with coupon, but quality control is too poor to recommend. Manufacturer/brand is only two months old, Amazon exclusive, and appears to be from Vietnam/China - not USA based like adverts suggested.

This was an expensive impulse buy as I really didn't have much use other than checking the house for heating and cooling gaps, but INFRARED CAMERA.I have been quite pleased at how much functionality it has and how easy it is to use. The form factor and button placement makes it feel like using a digital camera. The screen is clear and vibrant, showing clear shifts in color depending on the mode. There are actually multiple vision modes besides straight infrared that make picking out details far, far easier because they can overlap visual light and accentuate the edges of objects on top of the infrared picture. I was able to rapidly identify several significant leaks quickly as they become very obvious through the device.Recommended. It may not yet be in the price range to become a household item, but if you've ever had the need or desire for a personal infrared camera, the tech is ready for you.

I have wanted a thermal imager for a long time but the $400+ price was too great for hobby use. This imager does a great job with both pix and video. You stand outside in the cold and move and see your boots' heat signature remaining for minutes. When the dog comes in from the cold, she leaves black footprints on the carpet where her feet are drawing heat. You can slowly move your finger on any surface and draw with heat prints.
