I headed to my brother's house with my new cables and generator in hand to test out this parallel cable set because he has my second Honda 2000i. Unfortunately we couldn't find it anywhere on his property so was unable to live test this cable set. I'm hoping it is not stolen. I personally used that generator last in July and it is nowhere in sight. So all I could do is test this new parallel cable set with a multi-meter for continuity and resistance and a Visual inspection. In another moment of 'unfortunately', I could only check for for continuity as the manual ranging meter that I use for resistance/ohms is on my bench at my shop which is hundreds of miles away. So enough excuses - here goes - The cables appear to be well constructed as you can see in the photos. Better than I expected actually. The parallel cable connections are solidly attached to the wires as are the crimped on spade lugs to the ground wires. I was unable to test the true resistance value of each wire set with their corresponding connectors to see if they at least closely matched each other however all the cables in the set I received passed a basic continuity test. The instruction manual was clear enough on how to parallel two generators together including the 1000i but what was lacking was the eu2000i 'companion' model generator load specifications in the instructions. That model generator (supposedly not available in Canada) has a built in 30 amp twist receptacle without the need to purchase a set of parallel cables that comes with an attached receptacle(s). My brother is devastated that he can't find my generator and when or hopefully, if he replaces it, I will write an update to this review. So much for being able to run the 25 amp A/C on the RV with my two generators. My apologies for the lack of a proper analysis.

I have always wanted to run my generator in parallel and my son just bought a Honda EU2000i like mine so I asked him if we could try these and run the two generators in parallel to test. He agreed and I ordered these parallel cables to connect the two generators. The cables are nice and heavy duty even a little beefier than the Honda branded cables. The one thing I found on this set is that the two main wires are not labeled or colored separately like the Honda brand. I expected one to be black and the other red. Both of these are red so you do not know which is the straight through wire or if they are crisscrossed. Honda says to plug the black to black on each generator and red to red. I don't know if it really matters but I was not going to try it and with my luck they would be crossed and take out both generator inverters. So I grabbed my multimeter and figured out which wire was straight through and I put a piece of black electrical tape on one of the wires so I knew that it should go to the black plug on the generator. Both ends of the same wire into the black plugs and the red ends into the red plugs and connected the green to the grounds lugs. Will them all wire we started the two generators and tested the load capability. To our surprise they ran very well and handles a 4000 watt load without any issues. I am very happy with this parallel cable set and it should last very long as it has a nylon abrasion jacket on a majority of the cable with a heat shrink at the ends of that jacket so it does not slide down or pull off. The cable is made very well and for the price is less then the Honda branded cable so a great deal if you need a parallel cable. I would recommend this but I would also suggest you ohm out the wires and marking one as black so you can guarantee you wires it as a straight through cable every time. I wish they made one of the plugs black and the other red from the get go. For that I am deducting one star from what would have been a five star rating.
