Poorly engineered design, and should not have been worn out at 90 hours on my mower. My neighbor had the same problem with his. But the new part fit him perfectly, and was easy to install, and may be a bit better than the original.

Parts fit the mower and they were a decent price. I can't speak for the durability because I'll need about a year under their belt before I can but they seem to be adequate quality.

After spending an hour installing everything, it worked great for about 30 minutes of mowing. Felt it skip a few times and checked the pinion gear. It is completely chewed up and worn out already. DO NOT BUY!

Fit well on my 20+ year old John Deere L130. As others have said, the steering gear does appear to be a little softer, as I'm already seeing wear, but so far no issues through the first season of use.

This kits works on my John Deere D160. The original gears from John Deere on the tractor from when I bought it in 2012 brand new lasted 500 hours which I think is not very good. It will be interesting to see how many hours these last. So far they seem good after 15 hours of use and I would order them again.
