I got this to replace the original switch which gave up after about 4 years. The switch itself seems to be of better quality than the original. The installation was a little tricky since Hoover decided they would save a few cents on wire and the leads only had about one inch of slack. I had to take my time since I could only get a needle nose pliers in the space with no room for a finger assist. A five minute job took a half hour, but in the end the switch works great. Better than buying a new vacuum which is probably what Hoover would like.

I was concerned about getting the correct replacement power switch but figured the low price compared to a new vacuum was worth a shot. The most difficult thing was putting the vacuum back together. Making sure the wires went down the correct path and they were not getting pinched. Happy I took a chance and the vacuum is back in working order. The power switch was easy to install. As I said putting the vacuum back together was tough.

My Hoover vacuum power switch went out and I bought this one. My vacuum is the UH17200 model which the title does not say is compatible. However, for the price, I took the chance. It works perfectly and was very easy to install. The hardest part about replacing it, it taking the vacuum apart yourself to get to the switch housing. Once you do that, you just disconnect the two cable plugs and remove the old switch. Pop in the new one and hook the cables up and you should be good to go. 10/10!

Exact to specs, quick and easy replacement switch.The replacement was much easier than I had built it up in my head and was weary about getting a replacement part from someone outside of the manufacturer. Wasn't a problem, worked perfectly.

Had the same problem as most of you. The switch wouldn't turn on the vaccum. It was not hard for me to replace the switch and it saved me from buying a new vaccum.
