I got tired of having to hold my old, broken chucks onto the tire stem at awkward angels and opted to pony the extra bucks for this chuck when I bought a new inflator. So far, so good. It takes a bit of getting used to, though. Sometimes it seems to be firmly in place but is not and other times it seems not to be connected at all but holds firm... Either way, much better than the big box checks which ALWAYS break.

This is the third locking tire chuck I have purchased. The first two were nearly impossible to lock on the valve stem an maintain (or even get) an air tight seal.This Hromee product works perfectly! Push it on and the locking sleeve engages 3 latch hooks in the threads of the Schreader valve pulling it in and securely holding in place, maintaining the air tight seal.It does suffer the problem as all others when trying to inflate a tubed tire.: it pushes the inner tube stem inside the tire. The only solution is to use a pair of long-nosed pliers to hold the stem in place while sealing & locking. However, this Hromee tire chuck does not let go, maintaining the seal. Once locked it’s difficult to even pull off.I highly recommend this product if you’re looking for a locking tire air chuck.

These worked great on regular valve stems. I made a 4 tire inflation system and they worked perfect. Unfortunately these do no work with the APEX quick deflation valve stems.
