Even though many paints claim they can be used undiluted in airbrushes, I found this not to be true, especially for primers. I mix the paints with some airbrush thinner in these dishes and scrape them into the airbrush using a small silicone scraper (clay molding tool I believe). They are easy to clean, stack nicely, are light, and fairly inexpensive. One of my frequently used tools that I don't want to be without!

What you can mix in the tin is pretty much the amount you need to fill the airbrush pot, but you really want it to be just a little larger- deeper, maybe. You have to be a little more than careful mixing in the tray because it's so shallow. And a lot smaller than I thought- cute almost, but still... what's above.

Bought to hold mixed paint for miniature painting. Great for that and for mixing up oil washes. Very useful.

Corroded and rusted after first use with miniature acrylic paint. I sell industrial manufacturing equipment made of either 304 or 316 stainless steel that endures far worse than a few drops of acrylic paint and water. Manufacturer is either using the absolutely worst quality steel or their equipment is ill maintained and seeding the steel with impurities that compromise it.

Perfect for mixing small amounts of acrylic paint. The stirrer is also just the right size for mixing those tiny pots if acrylic paint.

Very simple product but just the right size for mixing paints for small hobby model or miniature painting. The round trays are made from thin steel but sufficient for purpose and the small pouring spout helps to keep paint spills to a minimum when transferring paint from them to other containers.
