I installed this on my Hewes Craft sea runner.I already had the Humminbird head unit, Helix 10, and the other hardware required for networking the unit. Not having to buy a new system was a large driver in the purchase decision. There is a split screen option that allows viewing the radar and navigation screen side by side which is useful. The unit can pick out warning bouy sized objects in light seas at about 1/4nm distance. No problem showing kayak size objects up to 1nm . Not strong enough to show birds in moderate seas. No problems installing and I’ve used it on five occasions now, off Bodega Bay in Tomales Bay and on Lake Tahoe. It helps to start using it in clear conditions to get used to what the returns off different objects look like on the screen. It servers my main purpose well, which is to avoid running into something in the dark or fog.

There were no instructions on how to install. Because, if you run it to direct power, it over loads, causing it to freeze up! You have to attach it to power tgat goes off when the batteries do. It does not tell you that. I almost sent it vack.

Very low power not much range. Buy a name brand.
