I like that this works reliably and is in a familiar format. I have several Lake Master chips, and prefer them over the several Navionics chips I own. Mostly for the compatibility with my Minn-Kota's follow-the-contour feature, but also for the familiar interface I've grown to know & trust from other Lake Master products.One day I'd like these to be $10 instead of $125+.

I spend lots of time on Lake Superior in various boats. This chart set is the best, most accurate I've seen for the area. Very rarely do I notice a skew in location. Depth contours are generally pretty good, and the symbols/cartography and level of detail are good.Very good investment if spending significant time on the water and need good accurancy/detail on the charts.

Original chip didn't work on any of my Helic units. Submitted a claim and received a new one about a week later. Second chip works as it's supposed to.

Purchased primarily for Lake St Clair ice fishing. LOTS of lakes included. Purchased for my ICE Helix 7 G2 and is more than I even expected.

The Hummingbird unit comes with built-in maps but in order to unlock the "follow the contour" feature you need to buy a Lake master card. These cards are supposed to have more detailed maps than the ones that come with the unit. However, they may not be accurate enough to actually follow the contour. This card did unlock the follow the contour feature but on the lake I fish most was plus or minus 15 feet in either direction of the contour. So trying to follow the 25 foot contour I was in 10 to 35 feet of water. I don't need electronic boat control for that kind of accuracy. I can do that blind folded by myself. I have contacted Hummingbird about this and other issues. I'm still waiting for a final resolution.
